An Invitation to Parents
A typical student in a public high school spends less than 4 hours discussing colleges with his counselor, often in a group meeting. Last year I devoted from 17 to 26 hours individually to each family that elected the Comprehensive Service. I work with a limited number of students, offering flexible scheduling of appointments, including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, and advice that can come only from someone who has been a member of the local community for over 30 years, with two children who are graduates of Mamaroneck High School. With rare exceptions, I am just a telephone call away, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week - something you will come to appreciate as the application process, with its inevitable questions and tensions, unfolds.
