The Timing Although consultations may begin at any time during junior or senior year, there are several advantages to scheduling the first meeting between late August and mid-October of junior year. Junior year is too important, and many students need to be made more fully aware of the seriousness of the college admissions process at a point where there is still time to influence it. Beginning early during junior year also allows greater flexibility in scheduling standardized tests and campus visits.
Earlier inquiries are encouraged from students and parents concerned about course selection and summer choices during the freshman and sophomore years.
